The Journal of Language Teaching and Learning (JLTL) warmly invites academic librarians, institutional repository managers, and information professionals to include our journal in their library’s electronic resource collections. JLTL is an open-access, peer-reviewed international journal dedicated to the scholarly advancement of foreign and second language teaching, applied linguistics, TESOL, and language teacher education.
Open Access and No Subscription Fees
JLTL is fully open access and committed to the removal of paywalls in academic publishing. There are no subscription fees, access restrictions, or embargoes. Librarians are encouraged to add JLTL to their institution’s digital holdings, repositories, and research discovery services without needing to seek prior permission. Our aim is to ensure seamless, global access to language education scholarship for students, researchers, and educators, regardless of institutional or geographic boundaries.
Metadata, Indexing, and Archiving
The journal provides stable URLs and DOIs for all articles, ensuring persistent access and accurate metadata management. JLTL is indexed in several academic databases and digital catalogues, and we continue to expand our presence across global indexing services to increase discoverability. Metadata can be harvested via standard OAI-PMH protocols, and full archiving support is offered through institutional and subject-specific repositories.
Librarians are encouraged to:
-
Include JLTL in their open-access journal directories.
-
Archive individual issues or full journal content in institutional repositories.
-
Ensure discoverability of our articles through library search systems and federated catalogues.
Support for Scholarly Communication
JLTL recognizes the crucial role of librarians in facilitating academic dialogue and supporting open scholarship. Our publishing model aligns with global initiatives such as Plan S, BOAI, and COAR, and adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) standards.
Our journal promotes author rights and re-use by publishing under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain copyright and can deposit preprints, postprints, and final published versions on their institutional platforms. We welcome collaborations with libraries interested in promoting ethical open-access practices or hosting educational resources about academic publishing.
