Abstract
The current study tries to explore the dynamic nature of language teacher identities, interrogating how language instructors perceive and respond to a sudden shift to remote teaching during crisis when Turkish higher education institutions switched to emergency remote teaching after the devastating earthquakes that hit Kahramanmaras and 10 other provinces in Türkiye on February 6, 2023. Through descriptive analysis of data collected with a survey and thematic analysis of an open-ended question, this study reveals the complex and multifaceted nature of language teacher identities in crisis, highlighting their resilience and adaptability in the face of adversity.
